As we kick off 2025, it's a great time to look ahead and prepare for employment law updates happening this year, we’ve identified some key dates for your diary:
From April 2025, the following new statutory rates will come into effect:
National Living Wage (for those aged 21 and over): £12.21 per hour.
National Minimum Wage for:
18–20-year-olds: £10 per hour.
16–17-year-olds and apprentices: £7.55 per hour.
Statutory Sick Pay (SSP): £118.75 per week.
Statutory Maternity Pay and other family-related leave pay: £187.18 per week.
Lower Earnings Limit (LEL): £125 per week.
We recommend setting aside time to review your payroll processes and ensure your systems are ready to accommodate the new rates.
